These positions are located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations at 242 duty locations throughout the country, including the Headquarters National Capitol Region.

Duties As an Investigative Analyst (Criminal Analyst), at the full performance level, you will perform the following duties:

Requirements

You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.

You must successfully pass a background investigation.

You must successfully pass a drug screen.

Males born after 12/31/59 must certify registration with Selective Service.

Requirements by Closing Date: All requirements must be met by the closing date unless otherwise noted.

Probationary Period: This is a full-time permanent position (Career/Career-Conditional). A one-year probationary period may be required upon appointment.

Overtime work may be required to meet mission objectives.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret/Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Mobility: May be subject to reassignment geographically or organizationally.

Travel may be required occasionally.

GS-7 Grade Level Qualifications: Experience:

One (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-5 level or equivalent, including duties like researching, evaluating, and operating computer software, and working in teams.

OR

Education:

One year of graduate-level education from an accredited institution demonstrating relevant knowledge, or 18 semester hours if specific credit hours are unavailable.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience:

Sufficient graduate education combined with specialized experience, totaling at least 100% of the requirement.

OR

A Bachelor's Degree with Superior Academic Achievement:

Demonstrated through class standing in the upper third, GPA of 3.0 or higher, GPA of 3.5 or higher, or membership in a recognized honor society.

Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date; verification is required.

Training Completion of Homeland Security Investigations Criminal Analyst Training (HSICAT) is required. Failure to complete this training may result in reassignment, demotion, or separation.

Additional Experience Volunteer and national service experience are credited and valuable.
