Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Pain Management Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The Pain Management Nurse Practitioner will provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients experiencing acute and chronic pain. This role involves collaborating with physicians, physical therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized pain management plans. The ideal candidate will possess advanced clinical skills, a compassionate approach to patient care, and a strong understanding of pain management modalities, including pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive pain assessments, prescribing medications within the scope of practice, performing interventional procedures as appropriate, and educating patients and families about pain management strategies. The Pain Management Nurse Practitioner will also monitor treatment effectiveness, adjust care plans as needed, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in pain management.
Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive pain assessments for patients.
- Develop and implement individualized pain management plans.
- Prescribe medications and recommend non-pharmacological interventions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Perform interventional pain management procedures as appropriate.
- Educate patients and families about pain management strategies.
- Monitor and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
- Adjust care plans based on patient response and feedback.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
- Participate in quality improvement and staff education initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Texas with no restrictions.
- Active Current DEA License
- Certification in pain management or related specialty preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in pain management or related field.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience with patient education and counseling.
- Commitment to patient-centered and ethical care.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.
