Hands Express Blowout Boutique is excited to launch our Stylist Step-Up Program, a structured, entry-level career pathway designed for individuals passionate about becoming licensed hairstylists. This program is aligned with the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and allows individuals to gain hands-on experience while training toward full licensure.

Program Structure:

Phase 1: Shampoo Assistant (Training & Work Phase)

Eligibility:

Must be at least 16 years oldPassionate about the beauty industryEnrolled in or willing to train for the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology sanitation testTraining Includes:

Hands-on salon supportGuided study sessions to prepare for the sanitation examExposure to client relations and salon operationsDuties During Phase 1:

Shampooing and conditioning clientsUse of hot tools (e.g., blow dryers, flat irons, curling irons)Supporting licensed stylists with non-chemical servicesGeneral sanitation and salon upkeepNote: During Phase 1, participants are not permitted to perform chemical or color services.

Phase 2: Hands Express Stylist

Eligibility:

Successfully passed the sanitation test administered by the Oklahoma State Board of CosmetologyClassification:

Officially classified as a Stylist at Hands Express Blowout BoutiqueAuthorized Services:

Blowouts and styling with hot toolsShampoo and conditioning treatmentsBasic non-chemical finishing servicesNote: Chemical services (e.g., coloring, perming, relaxing) are not permitted until full cosmetology licensure is obtained.

Program Advancement:

Upon completion of Phase 2, participants are encouraged to enroll in a full cosmetology program of their choice to pursue licensure for chemical services. Hands Express is proud to support continued education and career advancement in the beauty industry.
