Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate with experience in SAP and MES (Manufacturing Execution System) environments to support our global logistics operations. This role involves managing material transactions, order fulfillment, and documentation, ensuring compliance with international shipping standards. The Warehouse Associate will be responsible for all core warehouse functions, including receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and preparing products for customer delivery, while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support overall warehouse and logistics operations.
Role Objective
The objective of the Warehouse Associate role is to ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely handling of all warehouse operations—including receiving, storing, and shipping materials—while supporting global logistics processes through proper use of SAP and MES systems. This role plays a key part in maintaining inventory accuracy, meeting customer delivery expectations, and upholding compliance with international shipping and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform goods receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping using SAP ECC, or execute real-time inventory transactions through MES to support production and traceability.
- Process outbound shipments, including international documentation (e.g., commercial invoices, packing lists, customs forms, processes with UPS, FedEx, DHL, trucking and selected forwarders).
- Coordinate with freight forwarders and carriers for export shipments; schedule all product distribution and coordinate shipments.
- Accurately label and prepare shipments in compliance with international shipping regulations (e.g., INCOTERMS, HTS codes).
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory through regular cycle counts and audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory or transaction discrepancies in SAP.
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines in warehouse operations.
- Support cross-functional departments, including Production, Quality, and Logistics teams.
- Support picking and loading operations as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics.
- Verify product received, quantity matches PO, and enter data into the system.
- Verify all shipping paperwork is accurate and complete, sign paperwork (when applicable), and coordinate carrier pickups.
- Safely operate forklift or other machinery to complete tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, picking, stocking, staging, and transportation of goods; operate pallet jacks or other machinery as needed.
- May also complete tasks such as receiving, returns, inventory, order layout, data entry, and loading trucks considering cubic weight, size, and characteristics of load.
- Must adhere to Quality Management System.
- Participate in any special projects requested by Supervisors.
Qualifications, Skills and Preferred Attributes
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s degree is a plus.
- 3-5 years of warehouse / logistics experience, preferably in a manufacturing or export environment.
- Hands-on experience with SAP WM, IM, or EWM modules and MES software.
- Understanding of international shipping documentation and export regulations.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., bar-coding equipment, handheld devices, forklifts; forklift certification preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Good verbal and written communication.
- Solid reading skills; must be able to read orders and match orders on shipping tickets to items picked.
- Basic computer literacy and math skills.
- Logical and problem-solving skills.
- Must have a CA driver license and a good driving record.
- Ability to understand and execute instructions.
- General understanding of warehouse operations and footprint.
- Ability to operate inventory control equipment.
