The Warehouse Associate plays a key role in daily distribution center operations. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor and Lead, this role is responsible for accurately picking, processing, staging, and shipping orders using WMS and RF scanning tools. The ideal candidate will have proven warehouse experience and demonstrate the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and accuracy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick and stage orders based on customer and internal requirements.
- Operate a variety of material handling equipment (MHE), including forklifts, electric pallet jacks, reach trucks, and cherry pickers in accordance with safety standards.
- Process orders using RF-Smart WMS or comparable warehouse management systems (WMS), including scanning, label generation, and tracking.
- Confirm inventory accuracy through scanning, cycle counts, and real-time WMS updates.
- Prepare, pack, and wrap outbound shipments to ensure damage-free transit.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas to support operational safety and efficiency.
- Apply proper product handling techniques and install protective materials as required (e.g., bracing, padding, corner boards).
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety policies, and OSHA regulations.
- Participate in team huddles and communicate effectively with leads, supervisors, and team members.
- Support warehouse inventory control processes and assist in reconciling discrepancies.
- Unload inbound containers, trailers, and pallets safely and efficiently, break down shipments and stage product in appropriate locations
- Support receiving team with dock operations, product flow, and initial inspection of materials.
- Picker: Locate and select merchandise based on pick tickets; operate RF scanners to confirm correct SKU/lot; stage product for order assemble
- Processor: Verify order accuracy, scan and process product through WMS; generate labels, prepare documentation, and update status in real-time.
- Packer: Safely pack and wrap products for shipment; apply protective materials (bracing, padding, corner boards) to prevent damage; stage outbound shipments for carrier pickup.
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a warehouse, distribution, or fulfillment role.
- Forklift certified, with 6+ months of hands-on operation experience (sit-down, reach, or cherry picker preferred).
- Proficient in using RF scanners and WMS (RF-Smart or equivalent).
- Ability to work independently and meet performance metrics and accuracy standards.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. This role requires work in a warehouse environment, which may not be climate-controlled. Physical tasks include walking, squatting, twisting, reaching lifting, bending, operating MHE, and standing for extended periods of time. This role will need to be able to lift between 10-50lnd regularly and will include operating safety and other equipment daily.
