Job Purpose

The warehouse associate performs general warehouse duties such as, but not limited to, working with heavy equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks to move freight. The warehouse worker completes paperwork, ensures tasks are completed safely with the highest quality and on time, and must make decisions regarding the transfer of incoming and outgoing inventory. The warehouse associate works as a team to complete tasks safely with the highest quality and on-time delivery to our customers. They must be able to lift and carry heavy objects and work in hot or cold weather. A warehouse worker should be alert, ambitious, hard-working, detail-oriented, and able to follow instructions while working as a team.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Order Puller: Includes, but is not limited to, pulling customer orders, warehouse stock orders, various kits, and completing discrepancy sheets.
  2. Shipping: Includes, but is not limited to, packing boxes, shipping labels, and documents for UPS, FedEx, and motor freight.
  3. Receiving: Receive and verify shipments from vendors via UPS, FedEx, and motor freight. Put stock in appropriate locations. Receive and sign for shipments.
  4. Quality Control: Through visual inspection, verifies the accuracy of every order before shipping.
  5. Dispatch: Dispatch orders to include correct quantity, freight costs, tracking numbers, and weight of packages.
  6. Inventory/Control/Cycle Counting: Includes, but is not limited to, counting, measuring, and recording as a team with other warehouse associates.
  7. Hose Assembly: Includes, but is not limited to, assembling and crimping hose and fittings in small and large quantities for customer orders.
  8. Kitting: Includes, but is not limited to, packaging various components to customer specifications.
  9. Front Counter: Includes, but is not limited to, receiving customer inquiries at the front counter and working as a team to identify the correct replacement. This may require fabrication of hose, fittings, and other components.
  10. Year-end Inventory: Includes, but is not limited to, counting, measuring, and recording as a team with other warehouse associates.
  11. Other Job Duties as Assigned: Includes, but is not limited to, housekeeping, preventative maintenance on equipment, team meeting participation that results in continuous improvement, posting performance metrics, organization of various celebrations, attending training meetings or classes.

Qualifications

  1. Ability to work independently and safely.
  2. Warehouse work experience a plus.
  3. High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  4. Certified Forklift Driver a plus.
  5. Knowledge of industry safety standards.
  6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment for long periods.
  7. Great team spirit.
  8. Excellent attention to detail.
  9. Able to work alone and self-motivated.
  10. Basic keyboard knowledge.

Working Conditions

Minimal climate-controlled environment.

Physical Requirements

  1. Below waist lift 70lbs.
  2. Above waist lift 50lbs.
  3. Pull 100lbs force.
  4. Overhead reach occasionally.
  5. Stooping/Work bent over occasionally.
  6. Climbing (Stairs, Ladder, Equipment Step-up) occasionally.
  7. Repetitive hand movements - stapling, using tape gun, grabbing bags, typing.
