Job Purpose

The warehouse associate performs general warehouse duties such as working with heavy equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks to move freight. They complete paperwork, ensure tasks are completed safely and on time, and make decisions regarding inventory transfer. They work as part of a team to complete tasks safely, with high quality, and on schedule. The role requires lifting and carrying heavy objects and working in various weather conditions. Candidates should be alert, ambitious, hard-working, detail-oriented, and able to follow instructions while working collaboratively.

Essential Job Functions

  • Order pulling, including customer orders, stock orders, and kits, and completing discrepancy sheets.
  • Shipping duties such as packing, labeling, and preparing documents for carriers like UPS, FedEx, and motor freight.
  • Receiving shipments, verifying contents, and organizing stock.
  • Quality control through visual inspection to verify order accuracy.
  • Dispatching orders with correct quantities, freight costs, tracking numbers, and weights.
  • Inventory control, cycle counting, and recording.
  • Hose assembly and crimping for customer orders.
  • Kitting and packaging components per customer specifications.
  • Front counter customer service, including inquiries and fabrication tasks.
  • Participating in year-end inventory counts.
  • Other duties such as housekeeping, equipment maintenance, team meetings, and training.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently and safely.
  • Warehouse experience is a plus.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong team spirit, attention to detail, self-motivation, and good math skills.
  • Basic keyboard skills and a valid driver’s license.
  • Drug-free status.

Working Conditions

  • Minimal climate-controlled environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift below waist 70 lbs, above waist 50 lbs.
  • Push and pull 100 lbs force.
  • Occasional overhead reach, stooping, climbing, repetitive hand movements, and constant standing.
