Administrative Assistant will be responsible for performing various clerical and administrative duties requiring a comprehensive knowledge of Federal Protection Services (FPS) systems and procedures.
Job Summary/Essential Functions:
- Perform administrative duties including filing, taking phone calls, scheduling appointments, and processing travel requests.
- Provide administrative support to executive staff with office management responsibilities.
- Work independently on projects requiring research and preparation of briefing charts and presentation materials.
- Act as liaison between FPS field personnel and DHS help desk services for IT, telephone, and other support, including managing trouble tickets.
- Provide executive-level and general administrative support in all facets of administration.
- Collaborate as part of a team to solve complex problems.
- Manage and organize resources to meet objectives efficiently, exploring new approaches as applicable.
- Schedule, update, and manage executive calendars.
- Support FPS Security Management Branch programs, including facility management, reports, and database maintenance.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years experience as an Administrative Assistant.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proficiency in English language, grammar, and composition.
- Resourcefulness and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Professionalism and effective interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Neat and well-groomed appearance, adhering to DHS dress standards.
- Primarily sedentary work, with occasional lifting and bending.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite.
Location: Kansas City, Missouri – FPS Region 6
