Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Mercy High School's administrative assistant is responsible for answering phones, greeting visitors, and directing them to the appropriate personnel. The assistant provides a positive and welcoming environment for visitors, parents, students, and staff.

* Handles correspondence, including emails, mail and relaying information to students, parents, and staff
* Maintains student records, staff files, and other important documents, both in paper and electronic formats
* Manages calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings
* Assists with planning and execution of school events and activities
* General office duties such as typing, filing, photocopying, and data entry
* Supports students with various needs, such as signing in/out, providing information, and directing to correct locations
* Works closely with school staff, administrators, and other personnel to support the school's overall operations
* Other duties as assigned


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to multi-task
* Google Suite efficiency

Education and Experience
* Previous administrative/clerical experience preferred
* High school diploma
* Safe Environment Certification and Background Check required
* Spanish Language skills are a plus but not required
