We are excited to welcome a dedicated and enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to our front office team at The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital at Mercy, a busy and patient-focused orthopedic practice. This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of a supportive, fast-paced environment where your communication and customer service skills will truly make a difference in the patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet and check-in patients with a warm, professional demeanor
- Answer and manage incoming phone calls and patient messages efficiently
- Handle patient registration and verify insurance information
- Collect co-pays and process payments accurately
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
- Monitor and manage provider schedules to ensure smooth clinic operations
- Sort and distribute incoming faxes and documents appropriately
- Maintain a clean, organized front office space
- Provide exceptional service and support to patients and visitors
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience in a medical front office setting
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to work well in a team and maintain a positive attitude
- Familiarity with EPIC is a plus
- Customer service oriented with a commitment to patient care
- Knowledge of insurance verification, benefits coordination, and the insurance authorization process
