Responsibilities

We are excited to welcome a dedicated and enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to our front office team at The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital at Mercy, a busy and patient-focused orthopedic practice. This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of a supportive, fast-paced environment where your communication and customer service skills will truly make a difference in the patient experience.

  • Greet and check-in patients with a warm, professional demeanor
  • Answer and manage incoming phone calls and patient messages efficiently
  • Handle patient registration and verify insurance information
  • Collect co-pays and process payments accurately
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
  • Monitor and manage provider schedules to ensure smooth clinic operations
  • Sort and distribute incoming faxes and documents appropriately
  • Maintain a clean, organized front office space
  • Provide exceptional service and support to patients and visitors
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a medical front office setting
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work well in a team and maintain a positive attitude
  • Familiarity with EPIC and Microsoft Office is a plus
  • Customer service oriented with a commitment to patient care
  • Knowledge of insurance verification, benefits coordination, and the insurance authorization process
