Job Summary

Truck Driver is responsible for the operation of commercial vehicles in excess of 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight, to deliver goods to customers and operations, and to pick up material from vendors and other operations.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Safely drive on the road delivering products in various weather conditions.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspection sheets.
• Inspect equipment to ensure safe operating conditions – check oil and fuel prior to leaving the yard.
• Secure and inspect loads to ensure proper securing.
• Perform duties consistent with all safety, DOT, and company rules.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and ensure the truck is clean.
• Maintain driving records, logs, and shipping documents as required.
• Maintain communication with base or supervisor via radio/telephone and EOB system.
• Verify shipping documents for accuracy and obtain customer signatures upon delivery.
• Complete required paperwork.
• Operate a forklift to load/unload trailers as required, following company policies.
• Complete training as required by management.
• Participate in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Minimum 12th-grade education completed.
• At least 1 year of experience driving a commercial vehicle over 26,000 lbs; 3-5 years preferred.
• Working knowledge of vehicle parts and minor repairs.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
• Successful completion of forklift licensing process.
