Position Summary

Matthews International is seeking an OTR Driver to join our Logistics Team in Aurora, Indiana, for our memorialization business segment. The ideal candidate will have over-the-road commercial driving experience.

The OTR Truck Driver will be responsible for delivering caskets to customers, Distribution Hubs, and vendors regionally and over long distances in various states, primarily to our Distribution Hubs in Dallas, Plainfield, IN, Atlanta, and Harrisburg, PA.

The Driver must be comfortable operating a manual transmission truck.

Responsibilities

• Inspect trucks for defects before and after trips and report conditions.
• Maintain driver logs according to ICC regulations.
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed.
• Operate tractor-trailers, possibly as part of a two-person team.
• Follow all federal motor carrier rules and regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience driving a Class A vehicle.
• Valid CDL A license.
• Current DOT medical card or ability to obtain one.
• Experience with manual transmission CDL A vehicles.
• Completion of accredited truck driving school considered.

Physical and Work Environment

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, and see regularly.
• Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required.
• Exposure to outdoor temperatures, diesel fumes, and noise.

Additional Information

Home 2-3 days per week, with weekend work possible. Starting rate of $19.90/hour plus mileage pay. Benefits include medical, dental, FSA, disability, life insurance, paid vacation, holidays, and a 401(k).
