Southway is looking to add experienced full-time truck drivers to our growing Branch in Chattanooga/Ringgold, GA. Candidates must meet all listed requirements to be considered.

Position: CDL Truck Driver

Location: Chattanooga/Ringgold, GA

Reports to: Branch Manager

Summary:

Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience, pass a background check and drug test, and complete a skills verification test on site prior to hire.

Responsibilities:

• Load and unload cargo.
• Record cargo details.
• Take delivery orders and drive long distances.
• Refuel, clean, and wash the truck.
• Report incidents to dispatch.
• Monitor road conditions and traffic.
• Follow traffic laws.
• Inspect trailers before and after trips, report defects.
• Follow accident procedures if needed.
• Maintain activity logs.
• Report mechanical issues.
• Keep trucks and equipment clean and functional.

Qualifications:

• Current state-issued Class A CDL Driver's License (No Automatic Endorsement).
• At least 3 years of commercial driving experience.

Skills Required:

• Ability to interpret manuals and write reports in English.
• Mechanical and analytical skills preferred.
• Prioritize and organize work efficiently.
• Use proper hand signals for crane and truck operations.
• Communicate safety issues verbally.
• Work at heights with PPE.
• Perform heavy physical activities: lifting up to 75 lbs., bending, stooping, climbing, etc.
• Sufficient eyesight and hearing for operation and communication.
• Other duties as assigned.
