Southway is looking to add experienced full-time truck drivers to our growing Branch. The following are the requirements; you must meet all of them to be considered:

Position Summary

The candidate must have at least 3 years of experience, be able to pass a background check and drug test, and perform a skills verification test on-site before hire.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload cargo.
• Record cargo details.
• Take orders and drive long distances.
• Refuel, clean, and wash the truck.
• Report incidents to dispatchers.
• Monitor road conditions and traffic.
• Follow traffic laws.
• Inspect trailers before and after trips, record defects.
• Follow accident procedures if needed.
• Maintain activity logs.
• Report mechanical issues.
• Maintain truck and equipment cleanliness and functionality.

Qualifications

• Current state-issued Class A CDL Driver's License (No Automatic Endorsement).
• Minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience.

Skills Required

• Ability to interpret manuals and write reports in English.
• Mechanical and analytical skills preferred.
• Organizational and time-management skills.
• Proper hand signaling to crane and truck operators.
• Effective verbal communication of safety issues.
• Ability to work at heights and use PPE correctly.
• Physical ability to perform heavy work, including lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Sufficient eyesight and hearing for safe operation and communication.
• Other duties as assigned.
