The expected base pay range for this on-site position is $25.50-$27.00 per hour. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position and may be influenced by factors including experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and location.
Job Summary
Safely operates a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates vehicle in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements, as well as local, state, and federal regulations and company expectations; maintains a clean and safe vehicle.
- Performs pre- and post-trip inspections using DVIR; notes issues for corrective review/repair.
- Reports unsafe situations or service issues to Operations Manager or Dispatch before attempting service.
- Participates in scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required.
- Works with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies and address unsafe accounts.
- Performs duties as scheduled by Operations Manager or Dispatch and assists other drivers as needed.
- Notifies Operations Manager of incidents, injuries, or property damage; communicates customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager.
- Completely dumps all containers, leaves locations clean, and ensures proper container placement and access.
- Completes and submits customer tickets when yardage must be removed; follows route check-in procedures and documentation at day end.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory duties.
Qualifications
A. Education and Experience
- Education: None required.
- Experience: No prior work experience required.
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
- Commercial Drivers License B (CDL).
- Applicant must be 18 years of age.
- Pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, background check (including previous employment check) and motor vehicle record review.
- Acceptable driving record required.
