N C Machinery Co. is hiring: CDL Truck Driver in Fairbanks

The CDL Driver position in our Fairbanks, Alaska location serves as an interface with our valuable customers.

The primary responsibilities of this role require friendly, helpful, and expeditious customer service to our VIP customers.

As a driver of a box-style straight truck, you will be responsible for all aspects of loading, securing, and delivering freight onto the vehicle; delivering freight safely and in a timely manner; conducting vehicle inspections for load and road safety according to company policy; maintaining the company vehicle log and facilitating required maintenance; following all company safety policies along with OSHA and AKOSH regulations; and adhering to relevant AKDOT regulations. Ability to drive a Standard transmission is required.

We have thousands of parts for our machinery, making it essential that our warehouse employees safely ship and receive parts orders, ensuring accuracy and meeting customer expectations.

Solid communication skills are necessary. We need a team player who will collaborate with our parts counter staff to expedite customer parts orders. Minimum Class B license with Air Brake endorsement required.

Qualifications & Experience Needed:

Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL B), with at least 2 years of CDL driving experience.

Ability to drive a Standard transmission is required.

Ability to manually lift up to 50 pounds and forklift experience.

This physically demanding job requires standing, climbing on and off trucks, walking, and picking parts for an 8-hour shift.

Our customers are often under time constraints, so the ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment is essential for success.

A high school diploma or equivalent, combined with previous warehouse and customer service experience, is a strong foundation for this role.

Salary range from $29.30 per hour. Hourly rate offered based on skills and experience.
