N C Machinery Co. is hiring: Truck Driver in Fairbanks

Overview

About the Position: The CDL Driver position in our Fairbanks, Alaska location serves as an interface with our valuable customers. The primary responsibilities of this role require friendly, helpful and expeditious customer service to our VIP customers.

Responsibilities

• Drive a box-style straight truck and be responsible for all aspects of loading, securing and delivering freight onto the vehicle.
• Deliver freight safely and in a timely manner; conduct vehicle inspections for load and road safety according to company policy; maintain the company vehicle log and facilitate required maintenance.
• Follow all company safety policies along with OSHA and AKOSH regulations; follow relevant AKDOT regulations and other duties as assigned.
• Ability to drive a Standard transmission is required.
• Coordinate with warehouse and parts counter staff to safely ship and receive parts orders and ensure accuracy to customer expectations.

Qualifications & Experience Needed

• Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL B), with 2 years of CDL driving experience.
• Ability to drive a Standard transmission is required.
• Be able to manually lift up to 50 pounds and have forklift experience.
• Physically able to stand, climb on and off a truck, walk and pick parts for an 8-hour day.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment due to customer time constraints.
• A high school diploma or equivalent combined with previous warehouse and customer service experience.

Salary and Benefits

Salary range starts at $31.10 per hour. Hourly offered based on skills and experience.
