General Responsibility

The CDL Service Truck/Tack Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating and maintaining the asphalt distributor. The Driver will also perform other duties on the paving crew as needed. This position receives close supervision related to specific work activities, assignments, methods, etc.; usually receives frequent observation/inspection over job activities; instructions are detailed and assignments are typically short-term. Good judgment and common sense is required in all duties and any other tasks assigned. Normal work hours are day or night shift, eight (8) to fourteen (14) hours Monday through Friday. Weekend work may be required depending on the contract. Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) as required. This job description provides an overview of responsibilities and task to be performed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing pre-shift/pre-trip inspections and filling out respective reports.
• Safely operate and maintain the asphalt distributor.
• Apply liquid from distributer to designated area.
• Perform occasional maintenance on vehicle including greasing, oil and maintaining upkeep of equipment.
• Performs all work in a safe, efficient manner, following routine and all standards of performance. Work is repetitive and continuous.
• Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
• Performs other duties assigned.
• Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Reports all unsafe conditions and actions to a supervisor and/or Manager Safety and Health.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred, but not required. Two (2) years of prior driving experience preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid Class B CDL with tanker, Haz/Mat endorsements required.
