The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows all company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may be requested to perform additional tasks in specific situations, as business needs require.

Essential Functions

• Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
• Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment. Keeps egress clear. Reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
• Treats all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; is friendly and professional at all times.
• Assists Customers; is register-trained, helps with merchandise, and answers questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner. Greet customers and thank them at every register transaction.
• Provides prompt and efficient responses to Customers. Responds to Customer Service calls immediately and escalates to Store Leadership when needed.
• Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
• Performs cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters, disinfecting high-touch areas) to maintain merchandise, customer and Team areas.
• Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the Company’s dress code.
• Maintains daily sizing and recovery to keep the store neat, clean, and well-merchandised to standards.
• Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandises items per monthly guidelines to assist Customers.
• Understands Loss Prevention Awareness, MOS policies, and merchandise protection standards.
• Demonstrates integrity and safeguards confidential information, cash and merchandise.
• Follows MOS policies and procedures for disposing of MOS merchandise with proper approvals.
• Handles cash, checks, charge cards and refunds accurately and securely.
• Demonstrates urgency to perform duties efficiently and aligns with Store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

• Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements / ADA

• Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
• Ability to stand, walk and move around the Store for up to 100% of working time.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
• Ability to push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to use janitorial equipment and ladders as needed.
• Stockroom shifts may require ability to push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.

Compensation

The base pay range for this role is $17.50 - $18.00. The base pay range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. Other rewards vary by position and location.
