Overview
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows all company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may be requested to perform additional tasks as needed to support customer service and store operations.
Essential Functions
- Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
- Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; keeps egress clear and reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treats all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; is friendly and professional at all times.
- Assists Customers as needed, is register-trained, helps with merchandise, and answers questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner. Greets Customers throughout the Store.
- Provides prompt responses to Customer needs and handles issues in a courteous and helpful way, involving Store Leadership when needed.
- Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
- Performs cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters, replenishing supplies) to maintain merchandise, customer, and Team areas.
- Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the Company's dress code.
- Performs daily sizing and recovery to ensure a neat, clean, organized store that is well-maintained and merchandised to standards.
- Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandises items per guidelines.
- Understands Loss Prevention Awareness, MOS policies, and merchandise protection standards.
- Safeguards confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
- Follows policies concerning cash, checks, card transactions, refunds, and other procedures with accuracy and urgency.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements/Ada
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to occasional push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
- Certain assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
- Stockroom shifts may require the ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.

Compensation And Benefits: The base pay range for this role is $16.50 - $17.00. This range is dependent on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. This range is one component of the total compensation package; other rewards vary by position and location.
