General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets Customers, follows company standards, maintains a clean work area, ensures proper merchandise presentation, and performs a range of store-wide tasks as needed.
Essential Functions
- Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
- Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treats Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; greets Customers and assists with merchandise and questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner.
- Provides prompt and efficient responses to Customers; handles Customer issues courteously and involves Store Leadership when needed.
- Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
- Performs cleaning tasks to maintain a neat, clean store and well-maintained merchandise areas.
- Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the Company dress code.
- Performs daily sizing and recovery to ensure a neat, well-merchandised store.
- Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor and presents items per guidelines to aid Customer navigation.
- Understands Loss Prevention Awareness and related standards where applicable.
- Safeguards confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
- Follows MOS policies and cash, check, charge, and refund procedures with accuracy.
- Demonstrates urgency to maximize productivity and follow Store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Ability to effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements/Ada
- Ability to use all Store equipment including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
- Some assignments may require additional qualifications and skills.
- Stockroom shifts: ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.
Compensation
The base pay range for this role is $15.49 - $15.99. The base pay range is dependent on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, education, certifications, seniority, and location. This range is one component of the total compensation package.
