General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows company standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The role may require performing a range of functions across store areas as business needs require and performing additional tasks in specific situations to achieve Customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Safety is the number one priority; practices safe behaviors in all tasks.
- Maintain awareness on the sales floor to create a safe environment; keep egress clear and report unsafe conditions.
- Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; greet Customers and recognize fellow Associates as appropriate.
- Assist Customers by providing product information, processing transactions, and answering questions in a courteous and knowledgeable manner.
- Respond promptly to Customer service requests; escalate to Store Leadership when needed.
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks and replenish supplies to maintain store standards and a neat environment.
- Maintain professional appearance and adhere to the dress code.
- Execute daily merchandising and recovery tasks to keep the store neat and organized per guidelines.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and follow monthly presentation guidelines.
- Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
- Safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise.
- Follow MOS (Miss-Out-of-Stock) policies for proper processing and disposition.
- Follow all cash handling and checkout procedures with accuracy and integrity.
- Demonstrate urgency to maximize productivity and adhere to Store best practices.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required
- Ability to communicate effectively with Customers, Associates, and Store Leadership in a friendly, cooperative manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements / ADA
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop; lift up to 25 pounds (or more as required by the role).
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
- Stockroom shifts may require lifting more than 20 pounds.
