General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. Tasks include greeting customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and presenting merchandise according to company standards. The Associate may perform a range of tasks across store areas as business needs require and may be assigned additional tasks to support customer service and store operations.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain safety as the number one priority; practice safe behaviors on the job.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to keep a safe, secure shopping environment. Keep egress clear and report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
  • Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; provide friendly, professional service.
  • Assist Customers, including register training, answering questions, and merchandising support. Greet customers with eye contact and a smile; thank them at each register transaction.
  • Provide prompt and courteous responses to Customer inquiries; respond to Service calls and involve Store Leadership when needed.
  • Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
  • Perform cleaning tasks to maintain a neat store and assist with replenishment of supplies and high-touch areas.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the Company dress code.
  • Execute daily sizing and recovery to keep the store neat, clean, and merchandised to standards.
  • Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandise items per monthly presentation guidelines; assist Customers with product knowledge.
  • Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
  • Safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise; uphold integrity and honesty in all interactions.
  • Follow MOS (Mark-Out-of-Stock) policies and proper processing of dispositions with Store Leadership approval.
  • Adhere to cash, check, card, refund, and offline procedures with accuracy and awareness of bankable tenders.
  • Demonstrate urgency and maximize productivity by following Store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills

  • Effective communication with Customers, Associates, and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move about the store up to 100% of shift.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop; carry and lift up to applicable weights.
  • Ability to push, pull, and maneuver merchandise and equipment as needed.
