General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may be asked to perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require, and may be assigned additional tasks to help achieve customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Safety is the number one priority; maintain a safe and secure shopping environment.
- Maintain clutter-free sales floor and clear egress to emergency exits; report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; greet Customers and acknowledge them throughout the store and at checkout.
- Assist Customers as needed—register-trained; help with merchandise; answer questions in a polite, knowledgeable manner.
- Respond promptly to Customer Service needs and escalate to Store Leadership when necessary.
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks and replenish supplies to maintain a clean, well-merchandised store.
- Maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress code.
- Perform daily sizing and recovery to keep the store neat and organized per standards.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and present items according to monthly guidelines.
- Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
- Safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise; uphold integrity in all interactions.
- Follow MOS policies and proper processing of each piece; notify Store Leadership for disposals.
- Follow cash handling and transaction procedures with accuracy and urgency.
- Maximize productivity by following Store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements/Ada
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other supplies.
- Some assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
- Stockroom shifts: ability to push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.
