Base pay

$16.60/hr - $17.10/hr

General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows all company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may be asked to perform a range of tasks in all areas of the Store as business needs require.

Essential Functions

  • Safety is the number one priority; practice safe behaviors on all tasks and maintain a safe shopping environment.
  • Maintain clutter-free, clear egress to emergency exits; report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
  • Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; greet Customers and use company recognition programs for fellow Associates.
  • Assist Customers as needed: register-trained, help with merchandise, answer questions politely and knowledgeably; greet Customers throughout the Store and thank them at checkout.
  • Provide prompt and efficient responses to Customer needs; respond to Service calls and escalate issues as needed.
  • Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
  • Perform cleaning tasks and replenish supplies to maintain a neat, clean store and well-maintained team areas.
  • Maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress code.
  • Perform daily sizing and recovery to ensure a neat, clean, organized store.
  • Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor in accordance with monthly presentation guidelines.
  • Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
  • Safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise; follow MOS policies and proper disposal processes with Store Leadership review.
  • Handle cash, checks, card transactions, refunds, and offline procedures with accuracy.
  • Maximize productivity by following Store best practices and efficient workflow.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required

  • Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs as required.
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store.
  • Ability to regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
  • Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment and other assigned supplies.
  • For Stockroom shifts: ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.
