General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. This includes greeting customers, maintaining a clean work area, ensuring proper merchandise presentation, and adhering to company standards. The Associate may perform a range of tasks in all areas of the Store as business needs require, and may be assigned additional tasks to support customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Understand safety as the number one priority and practice safe behaviors at all times.
- Maintain situational awareness on the sales floor to ensure a safe, secure environment; keep egress clear and report unsafe conditions.
- Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; engage with customers and recognize fellow Associates as appropriate.
- Assist Customers in merchandise questions, be register-trained, greet customers in-store, and thank them at checkout.
- Respond promptly to Customer Service needs and escalate to Store Leadership as needed.
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks to maintain store appearance and hygiene (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping surfaces, replenishing restroom supplies, disinfecting high-touch areas).
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the Company dress code.
- Complete daily sizing and recovery tasks to keep the store neat and merchandised to company standards.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandise items per monthly guidelines.
- Understand Loss Prevention awareness programs and merchandise protection standards.
- Safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise; maintain integrity in all interactions.
- Follow MOS policies and proper disposal procedures; maintain accuracy with cash handling and transactions.
- Maximize productivity by following Store best practices and minimizing unnecessary steps.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Ability to effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements / ADA
- Ability to use store equipment (PDTs, registers) as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop as needed.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment and ladders; some roles may require additional qualifications.
- Stockroom shifts may require the ability to push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.
