Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
  • Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; keeps egress paths clear and reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
  • Treats all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; is friendly and professional at all times; recognizes fellow Associates using Company recognition programs.
  • Assists Customers as needed—register-trained, assists with merchandise, and answers questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner; greets customers with eye contact, a smile, and a friendly greeting; thanks customers at checkout.
  • Provides prompt and efficient responses to Customer Service requests and escalates to Store Leadership when needed.
  • Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
  • Performs cleaning tasks and maintains a neat, clean, and organized store environment; replenishes restrooms and disinfects high-touch areas as required.
  • Maintains professional appearance and adheres to the Company's dress code.
  • Performs daily sizing and recovery tasks per company best practice to ensure neat presentation and efficient merchandising.
  • Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor and adheres to monthly presentation guidelines.
  • Understands Loss Prevention programs and protection standards.
  • Demonstrates integrity and safeguards confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise.
  • Follows MOS (Mark-Out-of-Stock) policies and proper disposal procedures when applicable.
  • Follows policies concerning cash, check, charge card, refunds, voids, and offline procedures; maintains accuracy with tender handling.
  • Maintains a sense of urgency to maximize productivity and minimize steps in workflow.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

  • Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative and pleasant manner.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements / ADA

  • Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store up to 100% of working time.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
  • Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
  • Certain assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
  • Stockroom shifts: ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.
