Job Description
Sparks Group, in support of a leading healthcare research organization, is in search of a detail-oriented and driven Grants Financial Data Analyst to join their Grants Accounting team. As the Grants Financial Data Analyst, you will focus on commitment accounting, grant financial reconciliation, and compliance analysis. Responsibilities:
- Manage payroll and effort allocations for grant-funded projects, ensuring accurate recording against budgets.
- Collaborate with HR and project managers to process payroll adjustments and maintain salary/effort distribution data.
- Conduct regular reconciliations and financial reviews to ensure compliance with internal policies and federal grant regulations.
- Analyze and adjust grant financial data for integrity and alignment with sponsor and institutional requirements.
- Generate and present data-driven reports using advanced Excel and other tools for financial decision-making.
- Utilize systems such as PeopleSoft HCM and Finance, and Huron Effort Certification (eCRT) for financial tracking, reporting, and compliance.
- Liaise with post-award management teams, Principal Investigators, and leadership, providing insights and supporting process improvements.
- Contribute to system and process enhancements through planning, testing, and implementation.
- Assist with audits, quality assurance reviews, and ad hoc data requests.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of professional experience in finance, accounting, or data analysis.
- Advanced Excel proficiency required (must pass Excel skills assessment).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex data sets meticulously.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft (HCM/Finance), query tools, and financial reporting systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of federal grant regulations (e.g., OMB Uniform Guidance) preferred or willingness to learn.
- Experience with data visualization tools is a plus.

This job is Hybrid Remote.
Pay Range: Salary $65,000.00 to $70,000.00
