Location: New York, NY. Hybrid (2-3 Days a Month), Locals or someone within the tristate Area only.

Summary:

Client is seeking a Junior Data Analyst (2 Years Experience) with a background in technology, data, or a closely related field. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders. A background or familiarity with royalties or publishing environments would be beneficial. The Data Analyst will be responsible for data quality improvement activities including data entry, testing, and communication of issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and interpret data requirements, challenges, and goals
  • Perform data cleanse activity with input from business stakeholders to compile full, clean datasets
  • Carry out manual entry of cleansed datasets according to prescribed procedures
  • Provide regular updates on status and progress of cleanse activities to the Workstream Lead and Program Manager
  • Develop a basic understanding of the system and data architecture, and document where necessary
  • Analyze data issues and identify root causes
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions and process improvements
  • Perform data validation and testing activities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, data engineering, analytics or a closely related field
  • Strong proficiency in Excel data analysis tools and techniques and familiarity with SQL, Python, R, statistical software
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience analyzing and manipulating large data sets
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Google Suite or Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Biblio Publishing Suite from Virtusales
  • Experience in book publishing or related sector
  • Familiarity with Finance and Accounting concepts, processes, and terminology
  • Understanding of software development tools such as JIRA and Confluence is a plus
