Responsibilities

• Collect, organize, and analyze internal and external datasets (e.g., GIS, CMMS, SCADA, Customer Information Systems, Key Performance Indicators, Financial Information Systems, and hydraulic modeling).
• Design, analyze, and visualize data to communicate actionable insights to a diverse audience (maintenance staff, management, regulators, and the public) using tools such as Power BI, Excel, Tableau, and Azure Analytics.
• Clean and standardize complex datasets, perform qualitative, quantitative, and temporal analyses.
• Collaborate with internal teams to establish data standards, maintain data integrity, and create tools to deliver products that address stakeholder needs.
• Innovate and inspire business process improvements and operational efficiency for stakeholders through data-driven solutions.
• Create data products such as tables, graphs, and statistical summaries to support decision-making and report creation.
• Troubleshoot data issues related to formatting, quality, and documentation.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to extract relevant data and detect inconsistencies, errors, and outliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in data science or related field
• Proficiency with analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Azure Analytics
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Experience working with large datasets
• Ability to align data analysis and processes with stakeholder needs and business goals
• Excellent communication skills for presenting complex data insights and recommendations
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
• Understanding of data quality control and information management processes
• Experience creating dashboards and visualizations (Power BI) preferred
• Experience with SQL querying and data reporting preferred
• Familiarity with utility system datasets (e.g., GIS, CMMS, SCADA) preferred
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to identify data trends and resolve data issues

Salary range for this position is expected to be between $60,000 and $80,000, and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications, and geographic location.
