THE ROLE: The Sales Representative will maximize financial performance by expanding sales of Xylem’s Flygt brand solutions and services, focusing on fluid handling opportunities and increasing business through system development, aftermarket sales, and services in wastewater treatment markets. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maximize regional financial performance by expanding sales of Flygt solutions and services.
- Grow territory account sales volume, develop leads, respond to requests, cold call, and utilize all means to solicit orders.
- Apply application technologies to drive specifications and provide practical solutions to customers, seeking new uses for products.
- Collaborate with Marketing to drive bid reporting and lead management, enhancing brand recognition.
- Maintain an effective sales pipeline using Salesforce.com.
- Develop and execute local marketing strategies to increase product penetration.
- Build consultative relationships with municipal end users, engineering firms, and utility contractors.
- Create cross-business selling opportunities based on understanding Xylem’s solutions.
- Monitor market conditions, competitors, and trends, informing management accordingly.
- Prepare sales reports, bids, proposals, forecasts, and other documentation.
- Participate in sales meetings, training, trade shows, and community activities.
- Stay informed on online bid services for funding and public bid opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; technical experience preferred.
- 2+ years’ sales experience, preferably in pumps or process industry.
- Knowledge of mechanical/pumping designs, hydraulics, water flow, electric motors preferred.
- Experience with Salesforce.com or CRM tools.
- Ability to present product seminars to municipal end users and engineers.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective negotiation and influencing skills.
- Customer service excellence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related applications.
The estimated OTE is $85,000 to $140,000, with starting pay depending on skills and experience. Xylem offers a competitive package including health benefits, 401(k), paid time off, parental leave, and tuition reimbursement.
