We are looking for a dedicated Manager I, Project to join our team in Houston, Texas. This long-term contract position requires an individual who is highly skilled in cost control, project management, and budgeting processes. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in monitoring project costs, ensuring financial compliance, and collaborating with teams to achieve project goals.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and manage project budgets by transforming estimates into structured cost accounts and aligning them with project scope and schedules.
• Monitor and track expenditures against commitments, ensuring adherence to approved budgets and identifying potential discrepancies.
• Assist in managing change orders by evaluating cost impacts, updating forecasts, and ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
• Prepare detailed cost reports and dashboards to provide stakeholders with accurate project financial insights.
• Support forecasting and Estimate at Completion (EAC) calculations by analyzing current spending, historical data, and projected costs.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure cost alignment with project objectives.
• Contribute to audits and compliance checks related to cost management processes.
• Analyze cost trends and recommend corrective actions to optimize project financial performance.
• Maintain accurate documentation and tracking systems for budgets and expenditures.
• Assist in tracking purchase orders and contracts to ensure commitments align with project requirements.• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, engineering, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in cost control, project management, or a similar role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial monitoring tools.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in cost tracking and reporting.
• Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial compliance processes.
• Familiarity with procurement and managing purchase orders.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate financial insights clearly.
• Experience in change management and documenting cost impacts.
