We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful implementation of a new Student CRM system for one of our Higher Education client. This individual will serve as the primary point of accountability for managing both the external vendor/implementation partner and the internal university project team to ensure the project is delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with institutional objectives.

The Senior Project Manager will work closely with stakeholders across academic, administrative, and IT functions to manage requirements, risks, resources, and change adoption, while ensuring seamless coordination between the vendor’s delivery team and internal staff.

 

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Governance

  • Develop and maintain the overall project plan, timeline, and milestones for the Student CRM implementation.
  • Ensure governance processes, steering committee updates, and status reports are consistently delivered.
  • Establish and manage a clear project communication plan across stakeholders.

Vendor Management

  • Act as the primary liaison with the CRM vendor/implementation partner.
  • Monitor vendor performance against agreed deliverables, timelines, and service levels.
  • Facilitate escalation and resolution of issues, risks, and scope changes.

Internal Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate activities and responsibilities of internal functional and technical teams (IT, Admissions, Registrar, Student Services, etc.).
  • Ensure internal resources are aligned, accountable, and delivering on assigned tasks.
  • Facilitate workshops, requirement sessions, and user acceptance testing and other key milestones.

Project Execution

  • Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and approved.
  • Drive timely decision-making by providing clarity and options to leadership.

Change Management & Adoption

  • Support the development of training and change adoption strategies.
  • Engage with institute stakeholders to promote buy-in, readiness, and smooth transition.

Qualifications

Required

  • Master's degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 8+ years of project management experience, including at least 3 large-scale Student CRM/SIS or enterprise system implementations.
  • Proven track record managing both vendor partners and internal teams in a matrix environment.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile/Waterfall/Hybrid).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects within higher education (preferred) or other enterprise environments.

Preferred

  • PMP, PRINCE2, or comparable project management certification.
  • Experience with Student Information Systems (SIS), CRMs (e.g., Workday, Anthology, Ellucian, etc.), or similar platforms in a Higher Education setting.

Contract Details

Duration: 12 months with possibility of extension

Commitment: Full-time.

Location: St. Louis (Or Nearby for onsite visit during key milestones)
