Our client is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role requires a strong blend of technical knowledge, business acumen, leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership. The successful candidate will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Project Management, Business Management, or a related field; or equivalent IT experience.
  • Project management training and certification (e.g., PMP, Agile) preferred.

Experience

  • 57 years of IT experience with a demonstrated commitment to business problem solving.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a project management role overseeing multiple projects or a large-scale initiative.
  • 3+ years of experience working closely with business units or stakeholders, with strong analytical skills to assess risks and impacts.
  • Proven track record in leading teams, communicating clearly and concisely, and ensuring alignment on project objectives and progress.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deliverables, milestones, and timelines with high quality and within budget.
  • Strong ability to navigate interpersonal challenges and handle conflict diplomatically.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies such as PMI and Agile.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with expertise in evaluating risks and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Skilled in working within a political environment and engaging with senior leadership.
  • Proficiency in project planning tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or ServiceNow.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to set and manage expectations.
  • Strong business, IT, financial, and communication skills for a highly visible, high-impact role.
  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills, especially in environments where resources are not directly controlled.
  • Solid understanding of emerging technologies and how they can drive business transformation.
  • Ability to develop and execute resource plans to ensure optimal team alignment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze project proposals to determine timelines, funding needs, and implementation processes.
  • Define and schedule deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.
  • Provide leadership and motivation throughout the project life cycle, establishing work plans and staffing needs.
  • Make informed, timely decisions under pressure while maintaining project momentum.
  • Implement and manage project communication plans.
  • Perform risk assessments and execute mitigation plans.
  • Monitor project activities to ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency across deliverables.
  • Ensure project goals align with overall business objectives.
  • Assign responsibilities and define scope of authority for project personnel.
  • Prioritize tasks to meet critical deadlines.
  • Direct and coordinate team activities to maintain progress within schedule and budget.
  • Establish and enforce standards for project reporting and documentation.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve project management processes to enhance organizational capability.
