Staff Accountant - Frisco, TX

Summary of Position:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing day-to-day accounting functions to support the financial operations of the organization. This role assists in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies. The Staff Accountant works closely with finance and operational teams to support budgeting, auditing, and reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and internal reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits. Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and documentation.
- Support payroll processing and tax reporting activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and financial controls.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare or a multi-site organization.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Work effectively with colleagues and get along well with others.
- Excellent work ethic, able to work independently and adhere to the company’s policies and procedures with minimal supervision.
- Experience with healthcare financial operations or private equity-backed companies.
- Familiarity with ERP or specialized healthcare accounting systems.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and GAAP standards.
- Position requires extended periods of sitting and computer work.
- Occasional travel to other clinic or office locations may be required.
