Urgent Need for an Accountant ( Duration: Approx. 90 days or longer)

Job Title: Accountant (non-profit)

About the Role

A well-established non-profit organization near the Compton area is seeking an Accountant to help the team with some Journal Entries, AP and AR and other Accounting Tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day accounting tasks
• Maintain general ledger with focus on debits and credits
• Perform bank and account reconciliations
• Prepare journal entries and support month-end close
• Utilize Excel (Pivot Tables & VLOOKUPs) for reporting and analysis
• Support grant tracking and reporting (grant accounting experience is a plus)
• Ensure accuracy in financial data and compliance with organizational policies

Qualifications

• 2-7 years of accounting experience (internships or volunteer work in non-profit acceptable)
• Strong understanding of debits and credits
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Grant accounting experience or exposure is a plus
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
