Position Overview

The Accountant II plays a key role in financial reporting, month-end close, and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of healthcare-specific accounting issues. The Accountant II will be responsible for journal entries, financial analysis, and supporting management with accurate and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Journal Entries & General Ledger

• Prepare and record month-end journal entries in accordance with US GAAP.
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of the purpose and impact of journal entries on financial statements.
• Evaluate the appropriateness of entries, including GL accounts and financial statement line-item classifications.
• Ensure all entries are supported with relevant and appropriate documentation.
• Analyze data sources for accuracy and follow up with questions when documentation requires clarification.
• Develop estimates of current-month activity by analyzing historical data when necessary.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports that clearly reflect the organization’s financial position.
• Maintain financial dashboards for Information Management, Clinical Engineering, and TechSource.
• Provide month-end close support to the Corporate Financial Reporting Group.
• Suggest process or operational improvements based on financial insights.

• Corporate Accounting
• Payroll Accounting
• Investments & Foundation Accounting
• Prepaid Asset, Deferred Revenue, and Notes Payable Accounting
• Inventory & Supplies Accounting
• Purchased Services & Non-Patient Accounts Receivable Accounting
• Joint Venture Accounting
• Intercompany Accounting, Allocations, and Eliminations
• Lease Accounting
• Technical Accounting

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (required, must provide proof of education).
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in accounting, including General Ledger and Healthcare accounting.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting principles.
• Ability to produce management-ready reports and financial analyses.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
