Accountant
Location: Houston, TX (On-Site)
Reports to: Finance Director

We are a rapidly growing cabinetry wholesaler that provide great products for contractors, stores, builders and remodelers. As we scale, we are seeking an Accountant to help drive financial accuracy, efficiency, and support our international growth.
Job Summary:
The Accountant will play a key role in managing the full-cycle accounting process, month-end close, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and handling multi-entity consolidations. This position requires expertise in account reconciliations, AR, AP, and financial statement preparation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and ready to contribute to a fast-paced, globally expanding business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recording Financial Transactions: Bookkeepers meticulously record all financial transactions, including income, expenses, sales, and payments.
- Preparing Financial Reports: They generate various financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Reconciling Accounts: Bookkeepers reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to ensure accuracy.
- Assisting with Tax Preparation: They may assist with tax payments, returns, and compliance with relevant tax laws.
- Maintaining Financial Records: Bookkeepers organize and maintain the business's financial records, ensuring their accuracy and accessibility.
- Data Entry and Management: They perform data entry tasks, update spreadsheets, and manage financial data within accounting software.
- Payroll Processing: In some cases, bookkeepers are responsible for processing payroll and related tasks.
- Working with Accountants: Bookkeepers may collaborate with accountants to ensure accuracy, compliance, and financial analysis.
- Basic Administrative Tasks: Bookkeepers may also handle basic administrative tasks within the accounting department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a multi-entity environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience managing full-cycle close, reconciliations, AR, and AP.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience in eCommerce, retail, or consumer goods industries is a plus.
- Exposure to international accounting and foreign currency transactions is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
