We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our team in Melville, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency. This role involves a variety of accounting responsibilities, including financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance, and collaboration with both internal teams and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reconcile sales sub-ledgers with general ledger account balances
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes
• Create and post journal entries; perform account reconciliations
• Review general ledger activity, including accruals and reclassifications, and compile audit support documentation
• Evaluate and strengthen internal controls through risk assessments and process reviews
• Assist with annual budget preparation and conduct monthly variance analyses
• Maintain and reconcile internal balance sheet schedules and workpapers
• Participate in special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting practices
• Proficient in Excel and accounting software
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
