Summary:

We are seeking a Junior Accountant to assist with the firm's financial and regulatory reporting duties and draft financial statements for approval by the Head of Risk and Finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Building out the finance department to support the firm's future growth
  • Perform financial reconciliations, process journal entries, and prepare supporting schedules
  • Drive new projects and initiatives within the firm
  • Assist with the monthly financial close process and external regulatory reporting process
  • Coordination with internal and external auditors
  • Controlling, contract, and vendor management
  • Prepare ad hoc management reports as needed

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years related work experience, experience at a national public accounting firm is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Series 27 Finance and Operations Principal (FINOP) license or obtained within three months of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in preparing financial statements under US GAAP
  • Knowledge of Broker-Dealer (15c3-1) & IB accounting practices
  • Experience of Product Control processes and Valuation Risk gained working within Audit or Product Control of a globally operated bank
  • Experience in dealing with examinations, audits, and inquiries from regulatory authorities
  • Experience with Concur and Sage is a strong plus

Salary will vary based on role, education, level of experience, and expertise ranging between $80,000 to $165,000 as a base salary with eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus plus comprehensive benefits package.
