Overview

We are seeking an Accountant to join an Accounting team in Houston. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a strong foundation in corporate accounting while gaining exposure to the energy sector. You’ll work closely with the Accounting Manager and broader finance team to support general ledger, reporting, and compliance functions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries as part of the month-end close process
• Perform account reconciliations and review transaction classifications in the general ledger
• Assist with quarterly regulatory filings (FERC) and related supporting documentation
• Review and process accounts payable invoices for accuracy and compliance
• Support cash management activities and compliance with project-level credit agreements
• Prepare audit support and respond to external audit requests
• Provide data and analysis to support budget-to-actual reviews with operations teams
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely reporting and information flow

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or Master’s a plus
• Knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting practices
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel; experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Workiva, or OneStream a plus
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
• Effective communicator with the ability to work across teams
