Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries for general ledger accounts
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and research variances
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities
- Analyze financial statements for accuracy and trends
- Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and schedules
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and regulatory filings
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial data
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and system upgrades
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2+ years of professional accounting experience; insurance or financial services experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite)
- Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus
