About the Role:
The Finance Operations Group is seeking an experienced Accountant to join the team in its Warren, NJ office.
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Prepare daily loss funding transactions and AP vouchers; address funding/banking issues as needed.
Process journal entries to support monthly and quarterly closings.
Organize and process quarterly accruals, reclasses, and adjustment entries.
Perform/review monthly reconciliations and variance analyses for claim funding accounts.
Complete balance sheet reconciliations, including suspense accounts, in line with corporate timelines and policies.
Maintain up-to-date TPA documentation and insurance certificates.
Gain working knowledge of various claim/policy management systems.
Build and maintain relationships with TPA contacts to exchange information and resolve issues.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with controls and procedures.
Handle ad hoc requests and special projects as assigned.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and partner with Finance, IT, and Operations to implement changes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
Several years of accounting or finance experience.
Strong reconciliation skills (essential).
Insurance accounting experience (preferred).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including handling complex data sets.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with minimal supervision.
