About the Role:
The Finance Operations Group is seeking an experienced Accountant to join the team in its Warren, NJ office.

Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
  • Prepare daily loss funding transactions and AP vouchers; address funding/banking issues as needed.
  • Process journal entries to support monthly and quarterly closings.
  • Organize and process quarterly accruals, reclasses, and adjustment entries.
  • Perform/review monthly reconciliations and variance analyses for claim funding accounts.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations, including suspense accounts, in line with corporate timelines and policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date TPA documentation and insurance certificates.
  • Gain working knowledge of various claim/policy management systems.
  • Build and maintain relationships with TPA contacts to exchange information and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with controls and procedures.
  • Handle ad hoc requests and special projects as assigned.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and partner with Finance, IT, and Operations to implement changes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
  • Several years of accounting or finance experience.
  • Strong reconciliation skills (essential).
  • Insurance accounting experience (preferred).
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including handling complex data sets.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with minimal supervision.
