We're seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant with 3–5 years of experience to join our team and help drive financial accuracy and strategic insight within the company. This accounting role supports our recreational, utility, and service divisions—key areas that keep our communities running and thriving. This position reports directly to the Controller and works closely with department heads across our company. Alvarado Administration provides a supportive work environment. Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage general ledger activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations
- Assist with audits, tax filings, and external reporting, ensuring timely submission of requested documents
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes
- Contribute to impromptu financial projects and reporting as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is preferred)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or working towards CPA is a plus
- Experience in multi-entity accounting or working with service-based industries is preferred
