Become a part of our talented deugro team as we look for an Accountant in The Woodlands (Houston), USA.

Key responsibilities:

  • Process all 3rd party vendor invoices for deugro North American entities
  • Prepare payment allocation sheets for electronically paid vendors
  • Prepare month-end financial reports for offices
  • Process all non-job costed vendor invoices for Canadian offices, as well as payroll and general ledger monthly entries to close the monthly financial reports
  • Post overhead items and monthly journal entries for Canadian offices
  • Review and process expense reports, code and enter expenses, ensuring all invoices and staff reimbursements are processed timely and in accordance with company policies
  • Communicate with vendors to resolve A/P inquiries from staff and clients; research and reconcile discrepancies
  • Prepare and post journal entries and reclassify expenses as needed
  • Manage project/accounts opening, closing, and updates
  • Monitor accounts payable to ensure payments are accurate and timely
  • Assist in monthly and annual closings

Skills, knowledge, and expertise:

  • At least three to five years of experience in billing and/or Job Cost accounting; export freight forwarding experience preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with different project teams (export/import sea, air, and road freight forwarding)
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Teamwork attitude
  • Leadership experience is highly desirable
  • Proficiency with PC and MS Office applications, especially Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with data works system and all product lines and customer bases
