We're looking for a Senior Accountant to play a key role in shaping our financial operations, optimizing vendor programs, and ensuring our books are spotless. This is more than just journal entries and reconciliations it's a chance to help build processes, improve efficiencies, and contribute to strategic growth.
What You'll Do
- Assist in the development of a new chargeback/rebate program and other vendor-related charges.
- Develop and maintain detailed status of all billings and collections of vendor related charges/invoices.
- Calculate rebate accruals, payments and true-up based on vendor agreements.
- Assist in preparation of periodic financial statements and the corporate annual report.
- Communicate with other departments outside of accounting as well as external individuals as needed.
- Ensures that financial reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
- Assists external auditors and provides required statements and information for the annual audit.
- Take an active role in all account reconciliations, specifically cash.
- Coordinates the preparation of the corporate tax return.
- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies/procedures/controls.
- Identifies and recommends updates to accounting processes and procedures.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Three or more years of experience in an accounting or finance-related position required.
- CPA/CMA preferred (or working toward certification).
- Prior experience with rebate and vendor-related chargebacks preferred.
- Warehousing/distribution experience is a plus.
- System conversion experience is a plus.
- Highly detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and adherence to financial deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
