Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to support and enhance our daily accounting operations. In this role, you will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, and assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes—all in compliance with GAAP and established internal control procedures. Working closely with the Controller, you’ll help deliver accurate and timely financial information that supports business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger and assist in ensuring the accuracy of financial statements.
- Support the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations, schedules, and checklists.
- Record and reconcile payroll entries, coordinating with HR and payroll processors; assist with commissions calculations as needed.
- Maintain fixed asset records, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals in accordance with company policies.
- Perform account reconciliations for cash, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare and monitor daily bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances.
- Develop and maintain accounting schedules and documentation to support monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests by providing accurate schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in accounting operations.
- Collaborate with the Controller and finance team to provide accurate financial data that supports business decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA track a plus; candidates with significant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial operations
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Oracle)
- Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with advanced skills in data analysis, pivot tables, complex formulas, and the ability to manage and interpret large datasets
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and deadline-driven environment
- Experience in the solar or energy sector is strongly preferred
