We are seeking an Accountant to oversee financial processes, reporting, and operational accounting functions. This role supports ongoing financial excellence by ensuring accurate reporting, improving financial processes, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Great Plains or similar ERP systems, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment.

Job Description:

Job Details:

  • Ownership of invoice processing for new customers, annual renewals, including review and posting of Account Receivable (AR) batches.
  • Oversight and ownership of our monthly revenue recognition for Maintenance, Professional Services, License and Hardware Revenue streams, in accordance with IFRS 15 and ASC 606.
  • Oversight of our reconciliation of various key accounts such as Cash, AR, WIP, Prepaids, Fixed Assets, Intercompany Balances, Accrued Liabilities, Deferred Revenue and more.
  • Oversight and approval of bi-weekly Accounts Payable batches, including Lockbox, ACH / Wire, Credit Card Transactions, Transfer payment batches and upload payment files in Wells Fargo & RBC.
  • Recording and reconciling intercompany transactions and balances for entities within Red River as well as Volaris and Portfolio entities.
  • Record inventory transactions and ensure the accuracy of inventory balances and records.
  • Maintain master data, including adding/deactivating item numbers, updating payment terms, and managing salespersons in Great Plains.
  • Oversight of Capitalized Commissions process, as well as payout, in accordance with IFRS.
  • Oversight of IFRS 16 Lease recognition and amortization.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and upload them into Blackline system.
  • Oversight of integration of expense reports to Payroll and Great Plains, integration of client invoices and payroll to Great Plains.
  • Continuously review and improve finance processes to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Assistance with ad-hoc assignments from the Group Finance Director.
  • Key resource for answering queries related to CSI Internal Audit, Volaris Corporate Finance and KPMG.
  • Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, comfortable taking ownership of own work and reviewing the work of others in a positive and constructive manner, and will ensure the team is positioned for success and maintains high morale.
  • Some travel may be required.

Your Qualifications, Experience, and Personal Attributes:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an accounting or financial reporting role.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables & formulas).
  • Experience with Great Plains, or ERP accounting systems is highly preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, specifically for conveying accounting information to non-accountants.
  • Experience in industries such as C-Store Operations, Fuel Jobbers Operations, Point-of-Sale (POS) Software, CO-OP Operations, and Fuel Station Servicing.
  • Experience with a subscription-based software company will also be an added advantage.
  • Candidate must be either US or Canada-based.
